When Kevin was a youngster growing up in Overland Park, Kansas, he repeatedly tagged along with his Dad in the garage. Back then he was his dad’s assistant. “Hand me a wrench.” “Hold the flashlight.” Those were the directions he followed – all the while watching and learning about engines.
Today Kevin is a master auto technician and a master do-it-yourselfer on home projects as well. After marrying his bride Jill in 1992, Kevin was working for a repair shop in south Overland Park. Unfortunately the integrity of the owner was less than what Kevin thought it should be. Kevin has always been in tune with doing what is right for the customer and only fixing what is needed.
With a little push from his encouraging wife, Kevin quit his job, loaded his toolbox in the back of his pickup truck and ordered some business cards. He set out to embark on opening his own auto repair business! Underhood Automotive and Mobile Repair was launched and within a week he was swamped with work! Kevin founded the company based on a mission statement of doing what is right for you. Word quickly spread throughout the city that Kevin was an honest mechanic who did excellent work.
The mobile service grew from that pickup truck to a bigger box truck, to two box trucks, and finally a rented location on Johnson Drive in Mission. Jill even took a hiatus from her career in the mortgage business to work with Kevin and help the business grow. Six years later, they moved to a superior location in the heart of Johnson Drive and renamed the business Mission Tire and Service Center.
Today, Mission Tire and Service Center proudly serves its clients with quality, honest work. If it isn’t broke, they won’t fix it.
